Our church vision is based on the principles to: Exalt Christ · Equip for Service · Edify One Another · Evangelize the Lost · Extend Christ’s Love
What We Believe
Bethel Church has both a Statement of Faith and a Constitution that outline our beliefs and practices as a congregation.
I was born in Ontario but have lived in Manitoba and served as a pastor since 1979. I began my service with Bethel in 2002.
My wife Cindy and I have three adult children. We enjoy looking after our yard, reading, and travel when given the opportunity to do so.
We have enjoyed learning about our family genealogies, and I have taken an interest in classic farm tractors.
My studies in Bible College and Seminary, coupled with various ministry experiences in and beyond the local church, have helped shape my passion to communicate the faithful teachings of Jesus to others who will pass them on to the present and coming generations. 2 Timothy 2:2
I am pleased to have joined the church family here at Bethel as the Associate Pastor in August 2011. My previous ministry experience has included camp ministry at Winkler Bible Camp and youth work in a congregation in Niverville, MB. I am married to the love of my life, Irma and we have 3 amazing children, Carly (married to Travis Krahn), Marissa and Ryan. I am a huge Toronto Maple Leafs fan and enjoy playing or watching pretty much any sport. As a family, we love playing games, camping and travelling, and just spending time together as a family. It is my desire that my life and our family reflect the joy that comes from attempting to walk in obedience to Christ in every aspect of life.
It is my passion to challenge others to “be real” in their faith as they seek to follow the King of Kings. A verse of Scripture that sums up who I attempt to be is 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and self-discipline.” I hope that God can use me to reflect His love and passion to build into people’s lives.
It has been my pleasure to start serving at Bethel spring of 2021. I was born in Morden, Manitoba and have grown up in the area.
My wife Rachelle and I, along with our son Isaiah, enjoy hosting people, spending many hours outside, camping, hiking, gardening, biking/walking and playing pretty much every sport.
Over the years God has provided me with many opportunities to serve Him through various volunteer positions working with youth at camp, church, and college. Through these experiences I have continued to grow in my desire to point teens towards God and walk along side them (in this journey). I believe that believers, young and old, are called to set an example for each other in speech, conduct, love, and faith (Timothy 4:12). My goal is to exemplify this towards those I encounter.
